Removal Procedure

NOTE:
Do not use solvent of any type when cleaning the gasket surfaces on the intake manifold and the throttle body assembly, as damage to the gasket surfaces and throttle body assembly may result.

- Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System (L26, L32 GE 47716 Fill) or Draining and Filling Cooling System (L26, L32 Static Fill) or Draining and Filling Cooling System (LS4 GE 47716 Fill) or Draining and Filling Cooling System (LS4 Static Fill) in Engine Cooling.
- Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (L26) or Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (L32) in Engine Mechanical - 3.8L.
- Remove the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement .
- Disconnect the throttle body electrical connector.
- Remove the throttle body nuts (3) and the bolts (2).
- Remove the throttle body assembly (1).
- Clean the throttle body gasket mating surfaces.
