Removal Procedure

    IMPORTANT: The evaporative emission (EVAP) purge valve is located on the upper intake manifold.
  1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (L26) or Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement (L32) in Engine Mechanical - 3.8L.
  2. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge valve purge pipe (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  3. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge valve electrical connector.

  4. Remove the EVAP purge valve bolt (2).
  5. Remove the EVAP purge valve (3).
