Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Install the camshaft position sensor to the engine front cover.
    2. Fig 1: Disconnecting/Reconnecting Electrical Connector To CMP Sensor

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
  2. Install the camshaft position sensor bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  3. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the camshaft position sensor (1).
  4. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement (L26) or Drive Belt Replacement (L32) in Engine Mechanical - 3.8L.
  5. Install the coolant recovery reservoir. Refer to Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement (RPO LS4) or Coolant Recovery Reservoir Replacement (RPOs L26, L32) in Engine Cooling.
