Oil Pump Disassemble

  1. Remove the 5 oil pump cover screws and remove the oil pump cover.
  2. Remove the oil pump drive gear and the driven gear from the oil pump.

    CAUTION: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  3. Apply light air pressure to the oil jet. Inspect the oil jet for damage or clogging.

  4. Remove and inspect the relief valve. Coat the relief valve with oil and check that it falls smoothly into the valve hole by its own weight.
