Oil Pan Removal

  1. Remove the following fasteners from the lower cylinder block:
    • The 12 bolts ( 2, 4-13,15)
    • The 4 nuts (1, 3, 14, 16)
  2. NOTE: Do not damage the oil pan contact surface of the lower cylinder block when removing the oil pan.
  3. Carefully remove the engine oil pan.

  5. Remove the following components from the lower cylinder block:
    • The 3 oil Strainer bolts (1)
    • The oil strainer
    • The gasket
    • The 2 oil pan baffle bolts (2)
    • The 2 oil pan baffle nuts (3)
  6. Clean the following components:
    • The inside of the engine oil pan
    • The oil pump strainer screen
    • The mating surfaces of the engine oil pan and the lower cylinder block
