Test Description
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.
- 1: The Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle prompts the technician to complete some basic checks and store the Freeze Frame data on the scan tool, if applicable. This creates an electronic copy of the data taken when the fault occurred. The information is then stored in the scan tool for later reference.
- 3: This step tests for criss-crossed vacuum hoses at the AIR solenoid valve. If the vacuum hoses are connected incorrectly, the vacuum will not bleed away when the AIR solenoid is turned OFF, leaving the AIR shut-off valve always OPEN.
- 4: This step tests for an always ON AIR solenoid valve. After a maximum time of 30 seconds, the AIR solenoid is turned OFF.
- 5: This step verifies the operation of the AIR solenoid valve. If there is still vacuum pressure after the AIR pump is OFF, the solenoid vent passage is blocked.
- 6: This step tests for a shorted solenoid control circuit.
- 8: This step tests for a stuck OPEN AIR shut-off valve.
