Installation Procedure

    NOTE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
  1. Install the left I/P center support brace (9) and the right I/P center support brace (6) to the vehicle. Secure the braces with the following retainers:
    • The left brace nut (10)
    • The right brace nut (5)
    • The right brace bolt (7)
    • The left brace bolt (8)

      Tighten:  Tighten the I/P center support brace nuts and bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  2. Install the connector housing bracket to the right I/P center support brace.
  3. Install the lower instrument panel assembly. Refer to Instrument Panel (I/P) Trim Panel Replacement - Lower .
  4. Install the upper instrument panel assembly. Refer to Trim Pad Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Upper .
