Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the brake shoes. Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement (FWD)  or Brake Shoe Replacement (AWD) .
  2. Use brake parts cleaner, GM P/N 12346139, or equivalent, in order to clean the wheel cylinder and the brake pipe.
  3. Place a container below the backing plate in order to catch the brake fluid.

  4. Remove the brake pipe (1) from the back of the wheel cylinder.
  5. Remove the cap from the bleeder valve.
  6. Remove the bleeder valve.

  7. Remove the 2 bolts and the wheel cylinder (6).
