Low Oil Pressure

The instrument panel cluster (IPC) illuminates the engine oil pressure indicator when the powertrain control module (PCM) detects low engine oil pressure, and the signal circuit is low. The PCM sends a controller area network (CAN) serial data message to the body control module (BCM) indicating low engine oil pressure. The BCM sends a class 2 message to the IPC requesting illumination when the engine oil pressure is low.
