Installation Procedure

  1. Assemble the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Assemble
    2. Fig 1: Oil Pan

  2. Install the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Installation .
  3. Connect the oil level senor electrical connector.
  4. Raise the frame. Refer to Frame Replacement .
  5. Install the engine mount struts.

  6. Install the transmission mount bolts. Refer to Transmission Mount Replacement - Left .
  7. Install the engine mount struts.

  8. Install the right engine mount nuts. Refer to Engine Mount Inspection .

  9. Remove the engine support fixture. Refer to Engine Support Fixture .

  10. Install the battery cable wiring harness in the retainers on the cradle.

  11. Install the speed sensor wiring harness in the retainers on the cradle.

  12. Connect the speed sensor electrical connectors.
  13. Install the transmission cooler lines in the retainers on the cradle.
  14. Install the power steering lines in the retainers on the cradle.

  15. Install the steering rack on the cradle. Refer to Power Steering Gear Replacement in Power Steering System.
  16. Install the tie rods in the steering knuckle. Refer to Rack and Pinion Outer Tie Rod End Replacement in Power steering system.

  17. Install the retaining bolts for the struts. Refer to Strut Assembly Replacement in Front Suspension.
  18. Install the brakes calipers. Refer to Brake Caliper Replacement - Front (RPO J65, JL9) in Disc Brakes.
  19. Install the engine splash shields. Refer to Splash Shield Replacement - Engine in Body Front End.
  20. Install the oil level indicate.
  21. Install the tires and wheels. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  22. Fill the engine with oil. Refer to Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement .
