Installation Procedure

  1. Install the left bank secondary camshaft drive chain. Refer to SECONDARY CAMSHAFT DRIVE CHAIN TENSIONER INSTALLATION - LEFT .
  2. Install the left bank camshaft intermediate drive chain idler. Refer to CAMSHAFT INTERMEDIATE DRIVE CHAIN IDLER INSTALLATION - LEFT .
  3. Install the left bank secondary camshaft drive chain guide. Refer to SECONDARY CAMSHAFT DRIVE CHAIN GUIDE INSTALLATION - LEFT .
  4. Install the left bank secondary camshaft drive chain shoe. Refer to SECONDARY CAMSHAFT DRIVE CHAIN SHOE INSTALLATION - LEFT .
  5. Install the left bank secondary camshaft drive chain tensioner. Refer to SECONDARY CAMSHAFT DRIVE CHAIN TENSIONER INSTION - LEFT .
  6. Install the right bank camshaft intermediate drive chain idler. Refer to Camshaft Intermediate Drive Chain Idler Installation - Right .
  7. Install the primary camshaft drive chain. Refer to Primary Camshaft Drive Chain Installation .
  8. Install the primary upper camshaft drive chain guide. Refer to Primary Camshaft Drive Chain Guide Installation - Upper .
  9. Install the primary camshaft drive chain tensioner. Refer to Primary Camshaft Drive Chain Tensioners Installation .
  10. Install the right bank secondary camshaft drive chain. Refer to Secondary Camshaft Drive Chain Installation - Right .
  11. Install the right bank secondary camshaft drive chain guide. Refer to Secondary Camshaft Drive Chain Guide Installation - Right .
  12. Install the right bank secondary camshaft drive chain shoe. Refer to Secondary Camshaft Drive Chain Shoe Installation - Right .
  13. Install the right bank secondary camshaft drive chain tensioner. Refer to SECONDARY CAMSHAFT DRIVE CHAIN TENSIONER INSTALLATION - RIGHT
  14. Install the spark plugs. Refer to Spark Plug Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.6L (LY7).
  15. Install the engine front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Replacement .
