Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the console trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Console .
  2. Remove the left console trim panel. Refer to Console Trim Panel Replacement - Left .
  3. Remove the right console trim panel. Refer to Console Trim Panel Replacement - Right .
  4. Remove the floor console compartment. Refer to Front Floor Console Compartment Replacement .

  6. If equipped with an automatic transmission, remove the 4 screws (1), attaching the console (2) to the shifter assembly (3).

  8. If equipped with a manual transmission, use a flat-bladed tool to disengage the retaining tabs (1) attaching the manual transmission shifter boot assembly (2) to the console.
  9. Remove the manual transmission gear shifter knob, if necessary. Refer to Shift Control Knob Replacement in Manual Transmissions - Tremac 6-Speed.
  10. Remove the manual transmission shifter boot assembly (2) from the shifter, if equipped.

  12. Disconnect the console wiring connector (1) from the inner console.

  14. Remove the two nuts (1) attaching the floor console (3) to the vehicle floor.
  15. Remove the two screws (2) attaching the front of the console to the instrument panel assembly.
  16. Remove the accessory power receptacle. Refer to Accessory Power Receptacle Replacement - Floor Console in Power Outlets.
  17. Lift the rear of the console upward and remove from the vehicle.
  18. Remove the floor console armrest hinge, if necessary. Refer to Hinge Replacement - Floor Console Arm Rest .
  19. Remove the center console end panel. Refer to Center Console End Panel Replacement .

  21. Remove the screw (2) attaching the floor console rear air duct (3) to the floor console (1).
  22. Remove the floor console rear duct (3) from the floor console (1).
  23. Remove the console storage bin, if necessary. Refer to Console Storage Bin Replacement .
  24. Remove the console lamp. Refer to Console Lamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  25. Remove the console compartment lamp switch. Refer to Console Compartment Lamp Switch Replacement in Lighting Systems.
