Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to BATTERY REPLACEMENT in Engine Electrical.
  2. Remove the center instrument trim panel. Refer to TRIM PLATE REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) ACCESSORY LEFT in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  3. Remove the instrument compartment. Refer to COMPARTMENT REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

  4. Remove the front floor console. Refer to TRIM PLATE REPLACEMENT - FRONT FLOOR CONSOLE in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  5. Push in the retaining clip, then disconnect the cable from the shifter assembly.
  6. Using a screwdriver, disconnect the park lock cable from the bracket.

  7. Disconnect the shift select cable from the manual selector lever.

  8. Using a screwdriver, disconnect the shift select cable from the shift lever plate.

  9. Disconnect the electrical connectors, then the wire harness clip.

  10. Remove the 4 nuts, then the manual selector from the vehicle.
