Removal Procedure

Remove the oxygen sensors. Refer to the following procedures:
- Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Position 1 (FWD) or Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Position 1 (AWD) in Engine Contols-1.8L (LV6)
- Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Position 1 in Engine Contols-1.8L (LV6)
- Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Position 2 (FWD) or Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Position 2 (AWD) in Engine Controls-1.8(LNK)
- Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Position 2 in Engine Controls-1.8(LNK)
Raise the vehicle. Support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

Remove the floor panel brace.

Remove the following components from the exhaust manifold:
- The 2 bolts
- The 2 springs
Remove the following components from the front pipe to the Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) exhaust pipe:
- The 2 bolts
- The 2 springs
Remove the front pipe from the front pipe hanger (2).
Remove the front pipe from the vehicle.
Clean the gasket and seal the mating surfaces.
