Master Cylinder Reservoir: Removal

  1. Clean the outside of the brake master cylinder reservoir and the reservoir cap. Disconnect the brake fluid level switch connector. Remove the reservoir cap. Remove the reservoir diaphragm. See Figure .
  2. Remove the brake fluid with a syringe. If the vehicle has a manual transmission, loosen the hose clamp and remove the clutch hose from the reservoir.
  3. Remove the screw that retains the reservoir to the master cylinder. Remove the reservoir and the grommets from the master cylinder.
