Removal Procedure

  1. Open the instrument panel (I/P) compartment door assembly.
  2. Lightly squeeze the edges of the door handle and latch cover to release the retaining tabs, then remove the cover from the inside of the I/P compartment door.
  3. Remove the screws retaining the I/P compartment door latch to the door.
  4. Begin to lift the door latch away from the door, slide the latch to the right, then disconnect the latch rod from the door handle.
  5. Remove the door latch.
  6. Using a flat-bladed tool as an aid if necessary, release and remove the retainer from the I/P compartment door handle.
  7. Remove the door handle.
