Brake System Slow Release

  1. Were you sent here from a Symptom Test? If so, go to next step. If not, then go to GENERAL DIAGNOSIS  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  2. Inspect the hydraulic brake system for proper operation. See HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS . Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step  6. If not, then go to next step.
  3. Inspect the brake assist system for proper operation. See BRAKE ASSIST SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS . Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step  6. If not, then go to next step.
  4. Inspect the drum brake system, if equipped, for proper operation. See DRUM BRAKE SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS . Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to step  6. If not, then go to next step.
  5. Inspect the disc brake system for proper operation. See DISC BRAKE SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS . Did you find and correct a condition? If so, go to next step. If not, then go to GENERAL DIAGNOSIS  under TROUBLE SHOOTING.
  6. Road test the vehicle to confirm proper operation. See VEHICLE ROAD TEST  under SYSTEM TESTS. Is the condition still present? If so, go to step  2. If not, the system should be okay.
