Installation - Front

  1. Ensure that the caliper bolt boots are properly installed.
  2. Install the caliper to the caliper bracket.
  3. NOTE: DO NOT lubricate the bolt threads.
  4. Lubricate the brake caliper bolt shaft.
  5. Lubricate the brake caliper bolt boots in the caliper bracket.
  6. Install the brake caliper bolts. Tighten the bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  7. Use a flat-bladed tool in order to install the caliper bracket boot over the shoulder of the caliper bolt.
  8. Remove the plugs in the brake hose end.
  9. Assemble the brake hose bolt and the NEW copper brake hose gaskets to the brake hose.
  10. Install the brake hose bolt to the brake caliper. Tighten the bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  11. Remove the nuts securing the rotor to the hub.
  12. Install the tire and wheel.
  13. Lower the vehicle.
  14. Fill the master cylinder to the proper level. See MASTER CYLINDER RESERVOIR  under BLEEDING, FILLING & FLUSHING BRAKE SYSTEM.
  15. Bleed the brake system. See HYDRAULIC BRAKE SYSTEM BLEEDING  under BLEEDING, FILLING & FLUSHING BRAKE SYSTEM.
  16. Apply approximately 175 ft lbs (778 N.m) of force to the brake pedal for ten seconds.
  17. Inspect the brake caliper and hydraulic brake system for brake fluid leaks.
