Power Steering Gear Heat Shield Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. If the vehicle is equipped with all wheel drive, remove the right side engine splash shield in order to access the heat shield.





3. Remove the steering gear heat shield bolts.
4. Remove the steering gear heat shield.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the steering gear heat shield.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the steering gear heat shield bolts.
- Tighten the steering gear heat shield bolts to 14 Nm (10 ft. lbs.).





3. If the vehicle is equipped with all wheel drive, install the right side engine splash shield.
4. Lower the vehicle.
