Mode Actuator Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the left instrument panel insulator.
2. Remove the knee bolster from the instrument panel.
3. Disconnect the mode actuator electrical connector.
4. Disconnect the actuator pushrod retainer clip from the mode door lever.
5. Disconnect the actuator pushrod (3) from the mode door lever.




6. Remove the mode actuator mounting screws.
7. Remove the mode door actuator.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Connect the mode actuator push rod (3) to the mode door lever.
2. Connect the mode actuator pushrod retainer clip to the mode door lever.
3. Check that the actuator pushrod is not binding on the mode door lever.




4. Install the mode actuator.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Install the mode actuator mounting screws.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in).

6. Install the knee bolster.
7. Install the left instrument panel insulator.
