Liftgate Latch Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. Open the endgate.
2. Remove the endgate trim panel. Refer to Endgate Trim Panel Replacement (Endgate Trim Panel Replacement).
3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the liftgate latches.




4. Remove the bolts from the liftgate latches.




5. Remove the liftgate latches from the endgate.

Installation Procedure

Important: Make sure the child safety lock feature is not engaged before installing the liftgate latches.





1. Install the liftgate latches to the endgate.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the bolts to the liftgate latches.

Tighten the liftgate latch bolts to 10 Nm (89 lb in).




3. Connect the electrical connectors to the liftgate latches.
4. Install the endgate trim panel. Refer to Endgate Trim Panel Replacement (Endgate Trim Panel Replacement).
5. Close the endgate.
