Test N: Head Up Display Turn Signal Indicator Inoperative - Left/Right

  1. If head up display diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If head up display diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to HEAD UP DISPLAY DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
  2. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Observe turn signal lamp indicator on Head Up Display (HUD). Turn inoperative turn signal on. If turn signal lamp indicator on HUD does not operate normally, go to next step. If turn signal lamp indicator on HUD operates normally, concern may be intermittent. For aid in diagnosing intermittent problems, see PROBLEM DIAGNOSIS  under INTERMITTENTS.
  3. If Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) turn signal light indicator operates normally, go to next step. If IPC turn signal light indicator does not operate normally, repair as necessary. See LIGHTING SYSTEMS DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in BODY CONTROL MODULES - AZTEK article.
  4. Check for open or high resistance in suspect HUD module turn signal indicator control circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If no problem exists, go to next step. If problem exists, repair as necessary and go to step  7.
  5. Check for poor, loose or corroded terminals in HUD module harness connector. If no problem exists, go to next step. If problem exists, repair as necessary and go to step  7.
  6. Replace HUD module. See HEAD UP DISPLAY MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs are made, go to next step.
  7. Check system for normal operation. If system operates normally, test is complete. If system does not operate normally, go to step  2.
