Test Ah: Park Lamp Out Indicator Inoperative

  1. If lighting system diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step. If lighting system diagnostic system check has not been performed, go to LIGHTING SYSTEM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM in BODY CONTROL MODULES - AZTEK article.
  2. Ensure headlight switch is in off position. Turn ignition switch to ACCY position. Observe PARK LAMP OUT indicator in message center. If indicator does not illuminate, go to next step. If indicator illuminates, concern may be intermittent. For aid in diagnosing intermittent problems, see PROBLEM DIAGNOSIS  under INTERMITTENTS.
  3. Check for poor, loose or corroded terminals at IPC harness connector. If no problem exists, go to next step. If problem exists, repair as necessary and go to step  5.
  4. Replace IPC. See INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs are made, go to next step.
  5. Operate system to verify repair. If system operates normally, testing is complete. If system does not operate normally, go to step  2.
