Fasten Safety Belt Warning
Radio activates fasten safety belt audible warning as requested by IPC. IPC sends a class 2 serial data message to radio indicating chime frequency (slow rate) and duration (5 pulses). Fasten safety belt warning sounds and fasten safety belt indicator illuminates when following occurs:
- Ignition switch transitions to RUN position.
- Inflatable restraint Sensing And Diagnostic Module (SDM) detects that driver's seat belt is not buckled (signal is low). IPC receives a class 2 serial data message from SDM indicating driver's seat belt status.
If seat belt is buckled when ignition switch is turned to RUN position, chime does not sound. If seat belt is buckled while chime is sounding, the chime stops. If seat belt is unbuckled after ignition switch initial transition to RUN position, chime does not sound.
