IPC will turn AIR BAG indicator ON if there is a loss of serial data communication between the IPC and the SDM. For more detailed information concerning class 2 data lines, see DATA LINK DESCRIPTION & OPERATION in BODY CONTROL MODULES - AZTEK article. Following are possible causes of malfunction:

• Ignition 1 voltage out of range.
• An internal IPC malfunction.
• An internal SDM malfunction.
