Circuit Description
TRACTION OFF indicator is controlled by Instrument Cluster Panel (IPC) via class 2 serial data messages from Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM). If Body Control Module (BCM) sees traction control switch input grounded through momentary traction control switch, BCM sends a class 2 serial data message to EBCM. EBCM recognizes traction control switch has been pressed, disables traction control and sends a class 2 serial data message to IPC illuminating TRACTION OFF indicator. Each time ignition switch is turned from OFF to RUN positions, Traction Control System (TCS) is enabled. Following conditions will cause TRACTION OFF indicator to illuminate:
- EBCM has disabled TCS due to a DTC.
- Driver manually disables TCS with traction control switch.
- Instrument cluster bulb check.
- Ignition switch is turned to RUN position, TRACTION OFF indicator will illuminate for approximately 3 seconds and turn OFF.
