Description & Operation - Instrument Panel Cluster: Odometer

IPC contains a season odometer and a trip odometer. Press trip/reset switch on IPC for 1 second to toggle between season odometer and trip odometer. Press trip/reset switch for 1 or more seconds, while trip odometer is displayed, to reset trip odometer. If trip/reset switch is held for 3 seconds the trip odometer displays total miles driven from start of current ignition cycle. IPC displays vehicle mileage and trip mileage as determined by IPC. IPC calculates mileage based on vehicle speed signal circuit from PCM. Odometer will display 'error' if an internal IPC memory failure is detected or there is no class 2 communication. Odometer displays either miles or kilometers as requested by activation of english/metric button on driver information center. Associated indicator (km or mi) illuminates.
