Description & Operation - Head Up Display: Notes
Head Up Display (HUD) is a secondary display system that optically projects critical vehicle information onto windshield. HUD system has an electric tilt adjust controlled by HUD up/down switch. Moving this switch directs motor to move HUD image up or down on windshield. HUD is also equipped with automatic dimming which gives HUD ability to sense outside light conditions, via a photo-cell and automatically adjusts brightness levels. HUD image brightness may be manually adjusted by moving HUD dim switch.
HUD displays following images:
- Speedometer reading (speed up to 120 mph).
- Turn signal indicators.
- High beam indicator.
- Low fuel indicator.
- Check gages indicator.
- Radio frequency, including AM, FM, CD, and Tape.
- Backup vehicle speed.
- Values in english or metric units.
