Check Gauges Indicator Does Not Come On

  1. Start engine while monitoring CHECK GAUGES indicator. If CHECK GAUGES indicator illuminates for about one second, go to next step. If CHECK GAUGES indicator does not illuminate for about one second, check CHECK GAUGES bulb and replace as necessary. If bulb is okay, Connect scan tool to data link connector. Using scan tool, enter instrument cluster WOW mode. command instrument cluster indicators on. If indicators turn on, go to appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If indicators do not turn on, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Check for a problem with charging system, coolant temperature or oil pressure. If no problem is found, system is operating normally. If a problem is found, repair appropriate system as necessary.
