Low Coolant Indicator Does Not Illuminate When Coolant Level Is Low

  1. Disconnect engine coolant level indicator module connector. Connect a fused jumper wire between engine coolant level indicator module harness connector terminal "B" (Yellow/Black wire) and ground. Turn ignition switch to RUN position (engine off). If indicator illuminates, go to next step. If indicator does not illuminate, go to step  3 .
  2. Check for poor connection or open in Yellow/Black wire between instrument cluster and engine coolant level indicator module. Repair as necessary. If circuit is okay, replace engine coolant level indicator module.
  3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect Black 17-pin connector C200A from Black 48-pin connector C200D (forward lamp-to-instrument panel wiring harness, located between left kick panel and steering column). Connect a fused jumper wire between connector C200D terminal A17 (Yellow/Black wire) and ground. Turn ignition switch to RUN position (engine off). If indicator does not illuminate, go to next step. If indicator illuminates, check for poor connection or open in Yellow/Black wire between connector C200A and engine coolant level indicator module.
  4. Check for poor connection or open in Yellow/Black wire between connector C200D and instrument cluster. Check low coolant indicator bulb. Repair or replace as necessary. If circuit and bulb are okay, repair or replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
