Upper Control Arm: Installation

  1. Install a NEW ball joint dust seal and dust seal retainer, if removed. Tighten ball joint castle nut to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install upper control arm to body without tightening through-bolts and nuts. Install ball joint mount to axle assembly and tighten bolts to specification.
  2. Tighten control arm through-bolts and nuts to specification. Install wheels and lower vehicle to ground. Tighten all remaining bolts and nuts to specification.
