Description & Operation
The Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) consists of speedometer, tachometer, odometer, trip odometer and fuel gauge. Indicators and gauges include voltage, oil pressure, seat belt, brake system, SERVICE ENGINE SOON, low coolant, turn signal, high beam, supplemental restraint and anti-theft security. Some manual transaxle models may be equipped with an upshift indicator light. Speedometer receives signal from Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS). WARNING:
Deactivate air bag system before performing any service operation. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article. Do not apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy.
