Fuel Gauge Always Reads Full

  1. Disconnect fuel gauge sending unit. Connect fused jumper wire between harness Purple wire and ground. Turn ignition switch to RUN position.
  2. If gauge indicates full, check wiring between sending unit and IPC for open circuit or loose connections at instrument panel. If wiring is okay, replace IPC.
  3. If gauge indicates empty, connect fused jumper wire between harness Purple wire and sending unit wire. If gauge reads full, check ground wire to sending unit for open circuit. If gauge reads empty, replace sending unit.
