Fuel Gauge Always Reads Empty

  1. Disconnect fuel gauge sending unit. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If gauge indicates full, check ground. If ground is okay, replace fuel gauge sending unit.
  2. If gauge indicates empty, check wire from sending unit to IPC for a short to ground, or shorted IPC. If wiring is okay, check fuel gauge connections. If connections are okay, replace IPC.
