Coolant Temperature Gauge Always Reads Cold

Disconnect coolant temperature sender/switch. Using fused jumper wire, connect harness half of connector (Dark Green wire) to ground. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. If gauge indicates hot, check for poor connection at ECT sensor. If okay replace ECT sensor. If gauge indicates cold, check for open circuit in Dark Green wire and repair as necessary. If wire is okay, replace instrument cluster.
