Fuel Gauge Always Reads Full
- Disconnect fuel gauge sending unit. Connect fused jumper wire between Purple wire of harness half and ground. Turn ignition on.
- If gauge indicates empty, go to next step. If gauge indicates full, check for open circuit in Purple wire, or bad connection at instrument cluster connector. If circuit is okay, replace instrument cluster.
- Turn ignition off. Connect fused jumper wire between Gray and Purple wires at fuel gauge sending unit connector (harness side). Turn ignition on. If fuel gauge indicator does not stay on empty, repair open circuit in fuel gauge sender Black ground wire.
- If fuel gauge indicator stays on empty, check for poor connection at fuel gauge sender harness connector. If connection is okay, replace fuel gauge sender.
