Removal & Installation: Thermostat: Removal

  1. Remove air cleaner and duct assembly in order to gain access to thermostat housing.
  2. Partially drain coolant (below level of thermostat.
  3. Remove engine mount/torque strut bolt at engine.
  4. Remove upper radiatore hose at thermostat housing.
  5. If fuel lines and fuel rail need to be disconnected to obtain clearance, bleed fuel pressure from system by connecting fuel pressure gauge to pressure connector. Bleed fuel into an approved container.
  6. Remove fule lines from rail if necessary.
  7. Remove heater hose bracked at thermostat housing if necessary. Remove heater hoses at throttle body if necessary.
  8. Remove throttle cable cover if necessary.
  9. Remove thermostat housing bolts.
  10. Remove thermostat housing and thermostat.
