Removal (Right)

  1. Remove air cleaner and duct assembly. Remove exhaust crossover pipe. Disconnect EGR tube from exhaust manifold. Raise and support vehicle. Remove or disconnect front exhaust pipe and catalytic converter assembly. Disconnect oxygen sensor electrical connector.
  2. Remove exhaust pipe front heat shield. Remove rear alternator brace. Remove transaxle dipstick tube (A/T). Disconnect intermediate steering shaft from steering gear. Remove exhaust manifold nuts. Put an adjustable support under rear crossmember of engine cradle (front suspension frame).
  3. Remove bolts securing rear end of engine cradle to body. Lower rear end of engine cradle. Remove steering gear heat shield. Remove heat shield, exhaust manifold, and gasket.
