Removal (Right Bank)

  1. Remove upper intake manifold. See INTAKE MANIFOLD (UPPER) . Remove right timing belt cover. Disconnect right spark plug wires. Disconnect breather hose from cover. Remove bolts and camshaft carrier cover. Remove cover gasket and "O" rings. Remove timing belt. See TIMING BELT & CAMSHAFT TIMING PROCEDURE .
  2. To retain lifters in carrier, install 6" long fuel line hose between camshaft and lifters (use 3/16" diameter hose for exhaust side, and 5/32" diameter hose for intake side). Remove bolts, camshaft carrier, and gasket.
