3.1L & 3.4L

  1. If LOW OIL indicator does not come on when oil level is low, go to step 3). If LOW OIL indicator comes on when oil level is okay, turn ignition switch to RUN position. Disconnect low oil level sensor.
  2. If LOW OIL indicator does not come on, replace low oil level sensor. If LOW OIL indicator comes on, check for short to ground in Brown/White wire between IPC connector and low oil level sensor. If circuits are okay, replace PCM.
  3. Disconnect low oil level sensor. Connect fused jumper wire between low oil sensor connector terminal "A" (Brown wire) and ground. Turn ignition to RUN position. If indicator comes on, check low oil sensor Black/White ground wire. If wire is okay, replace low oil level sensor.
  4. If indicator does not come on, turn ignition off. Disconnect PCM. On 3.1L, connect fused jumper wire between PCM connector terminal A14 (Brown/White wire) and ground. On 3.4L, connect fused jumper wire between PCM connector terminal A4 (Brown/White wire) and ground. On all models, turn ignition on. If indicator comes on, check for poor connection. If connection is okay, replace PCM. If indicator does not come on, check Brown/White wire for an open circuit. Also check indicator bulb and bulb connection. If circuit and bulb are okay, replace IPC.
