Action Taken

DERM turns on AIR BAG warning light and sets a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC).

NOTE: Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart. For circuit number identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS.
  1. DTCs 16 and 22 set when PASSENGER-SIDE HIGH and DRIVER-SIDE HIGH circuits short together.
  2. Checks if fault is in passenger inflator module or DERM wiring.
  3. Checks for short from PASSENGER-SIDE HIGH and PASSENGER-SIDE LOW circuits.
  4. Checks whether malfunction is in passenger inflator module or passenger inflator module jumper.
