Cylinder Head: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove intake manifold, exhaust manifold and valve covers. See the following:
  2. Remove serpentine belt. Drain cooling system. Remove rocker arms and push rods (mark components for installation reference). Remove cylinder head bolts in 3 steps in reverse order of tightening sequence. See Figure. Remove cylinder head and gasket.
