Fuel Gauge Always Reads Full
- Disconnect fuel gauge sending unit. Connect fused jumper wire between Purple wire of harness half and ground. Turn ignition on.
- If gauge indicates empty, go to next step. If gauge indicates full, check for open circuit in Purple wire, or bad connection at IPC connector. If circuit is okay, replace IPC.
- Turn ignition off. Connect fused jumper wire between fuel gauge sending unit connector terminal A2 and IPC connector terminal A3 (Purple wire). Turn ignition on. If fuel gauge indicator does not stay on empty, repair open circuit in fuel gauge sender Black ground wire.
- If fuel gauge indicator does stay on empty, turn ignition off. Check for open circuit in fuel gauge sender Purple or Black wire. If circuit is okay, replace fuel gauge sender.
