Coolant Temperature Gauge Inaccurate
- Unplug temperature gauge sender wire in engine compartment. Connect Tester (J-33431) between sender wire and ground. Set tester to correct resistance. See TEMPERATURE GAUGE TESTING table. Turn ignition on.
- If gauge responds accurately to tester, replace sender. If gauge indicates greater than hot end of scale, check for short to ground. If gauge does not respond or response is inaccurate, check for open circuit. If circuit is okay, replace temperature gauge.
