Oil Pressure Gauge Inaccurate

  1. Unplug oil pressure gauge sender wire connector. Connect Tester (J-33431) between Tan sender wire and ground. Turn ignition on. Turn tester switch to zero and then to 90 ohms. Gauge pointer should indicate low and then move to high position.
  2. If gauge readings are correct, replace oil gauge sending unit. If gauge readings are not correct, check for loose wiring connections. Check ground connection for good contact. Check printed circuit board for defects and replace if necessary. Replace instrument cluster if no other defects are found. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
