Oil Pressure Gauge Always Indicates Low

  1. Check oil level and pressure with mechanical gauge. If oil level and pressure are okay, remove connector from oil pressure sending unit. Turn ignition on. If oil pressure gauge indicates high, replace oil pressure sending unit.
  2. If gauge still indicates low, check Tan sender wire to instrument cluster for short to ground. Check printed circuit board for defects. If wiring, printed circuit board are okay, replace instrument cluster or gauge. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
