Coolant Temperature Gauge Always Indicates Hot

  1. Disconnect temperature gauge sending unit connector. Turn ignition on. If temperature gauge reads cold, replace coolant temperature gauge sending unit.
  2. If gauge reads hot, check Dark Green, Dark Green/White or White/Black wire for short to ground. Check printed circuit board for defects. If printed circuit board and wires are okay, replace instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
