Installation (Eldorado, Riviera and Seville)

1. Knuckles are not interchangeable. Knuckles are marked on rear with "L" for left side and "R" for right side. See Fig 1 . Install knuckle on control arm.
2. Install but DO NOT tighten knuckle pivot bolt. Install wheel speed sensor (if equipped). Install strut in knuckle. Ensure strut is fully seated in knuckle, with strut tang bottomed in knuckle slot. Install knuckle pinch bolt. Tighten pinch bolt to specification. See appropriate TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table at the end of this article.
3. Rotate strut and knuckle assembly inward. Install lower insulator. Use jackstand to support outer end of control arm, and slightly compress spring. Install upper insulator, retainer and nut. Position strut rod in suspension crossmember.
4. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten knuckle pivot bolt to specification with vehicle at normal riding height. See appropriate TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  table at the end of this article.
