Suspension - Rear: Description

On Bonneville, DeVille/Sixty-Special, Eighty-Eight, LeSabre, Ninety-Eight, Park Avenue models, use an independent rear suspension, supported by ball joints, control arms, coil springs and non-serviceable struts. Air adjustable struts are standard on "C" body and optional on "H" body. Stabilizer bar is used to minimize body roll. Control arms are equipped with suspension adjustment links for toe adjustments. Eldorado, Riviera and Seville models use an independent transverse mounted leaf spring rear suspension. Electronic Level Control (ELC) air adjustable struts are standard. Rear suspension components are mounted on suspension crossmember assembly mounted to body. See Figure .

On all bodies, hub and bearing assembly is connected to suspension system by knuckle and struts. Hub and bearing assembly is a complete unit and cannot be serviced individually. Most models use Electronic Level Control (ELC) to maintain proper ride height under various load conditions.
