Passenger Compartment Discriminating Sensor: Removal

  1. Before proceeding, see SERVICE PRECAUTIONS. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
  2. Passenger compartment discriminating sensor is located under right side of instrument panel. Remove instrument panel assembly and air distributor assembly. Remove push-type fastener retaining sensor pigtail to theft deterrent control module bracket. See Figure . Remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip, and disconnect sensor electrical connector. Remove bolts attaching sensor to front of instrument panel. Remove sensor by rotating rear of sensor to disengage from mounting clip and pulling rearward.
